Semen Analysis
Semen analysis is an essential fertility test for infertile couples, and it is recommended that the test is done before starting on any treatments. Semen analysis entails collection of a sperm sample and evaluating it in a lab to assesses sperm count, motility, viability, liquefaction, semen pH, and morphology, amongst other things.
Your healthcare provider may recommend you to abstain from intercourse for at least 48 to 72 hours prior to taking the test in order to produce a good specimen sample. For more accurate results it may be necessary to undergo at least two separate seminal analyses.
