Sperm, egg or embryo donation makes it possible for a couple to have a child when one or both partners are not able to provide his/ her own sperm/ eggs. With appropriate medical and psychological preparation, sperm, egg or embryo donation can help to give these couples a chance to build their own family.

Sperm Donation Programme

Some couples are infertile because the man is unable to provide sperm for fertilisation. They can use sperm donated by someone they know, or from an approved sperm bank.

Donor sperm can be use in an IVF or IUI programme under these circumstances:

  • Azoospermia (no sperm in semen and surgical retrieval)
  • Genetic conditions

 Egg Donation Programme

Some couples are infertile because the woman is unable to produce eggs for various reasons.

Indications for Egg Donation Programme

  • Primary ovarian failure / insufficiency
  • Premature menopause (<40 years old)
  • Ovarian damage following surgery, radiation or chemotherapy
  • Carrier of inheritable genetic disorder
  • Advanced female age

Appointments are generally made following acceptance of a referral letter from a doctor, detailing any relevant information regarding the couple’s fertility history and results of any tests previously carried out. Your doctor will need to forward us all the necessary information about your case, including copies of previous test results.

Non-referrals:

Couples who do not have a doctor can personally arrange an appointment by calling or emailing Centre for Assisted Reproduction Pte Ltd (CARE) directly. Alternatively you can use the form here. Please do remember to bring along copies of any previous test results you may have to your first appointment.
